Brief details: (to include outline of personal background, life/career experiences, role on governing body/in school and reasons for becoming a school governor):
I am a life-long resident of Ferryhill and both my 9 year daughter and 6 year old son attends Cleves Cross Primary. Both myself and my husband attended the school ourselves and we loved our time there. It was only natural once we had children that we would want them to attend Cleves Cross so they too could experience everything we had. The school has always strived for the best of their pupils so we felt extremely lucky when our children obtained places. Our son was also lucky enough to attend the school nursery when it first opened. This is my first governing position but I am looking forward to getting started and helping the school that helped mould me into who I am today. I chose to become a governor quite simply because I am very passionate about helping children become the best versions of themselves and I believe that starts in the school environment.
Professionally I am a Tax Advisor with 19 years of experience and I thoroughly enjoy what I do. Outside of the work and school environment I am also a volunteer for a local drama group called Chance Drama. I love the work we do for the children and the shows the children all aspire too. I am on the committee with the role of Treasurer as well as many other duties weekly such as chaperoning, costume making, set design, backstage on show nights etc. There are many pupils of Cleves Cross that attend this group and I’m very proud of each and every one of them.
