In this section you will find details of all our school clubs.
Breakfast Club
This begins at 8.30 am each morning when children are offered a fruit juice or milk drink together with toast or cereal.
The cost is at present £1 (please contact us to confirm both the cost and the start time).
Please discuss with your child’s class teacher if you wish your child to attend. The benefits of having a healthy breakfast and thus making the best possible start to the day are well recognised.
We are constantly evaluating the provision and impact of extra-curricular activities. Comments and suggestions that would enhance provision are always welcome.
Extra Curricular Activities (RRSA Article 15)
We aim to provide a wide variety of after-school activities for all of our children throughout the school year. Some activities are ongoing and the age range changes, other activities are provided as ‘taster’ activities to give the children a flavour of something new and possibly continue their new found interest at a local club. Whatever the activity, through fundraising and successful grant applications, as well as staff giving their time freely, we always aim to provide the activities free of charge to all children to ensure there are no financial barriers to take up.
After School activities this half term
Activities will start week beginning 13th June 2022.
Please contact us before committing to any of the above as some sessions are limited numbers and can be subject to change.
Sport
We have weekly after school football clubs for both boys and girls at appropriate times during the year and aim to provide opportunities for inter-school competition where possible. During winter months Year 5 and Year 6 children are offered weekly opportunities to visit the local Leisure Centre for football, badminton and uni-hoc activities.
Outdoor Pursuits
Each year we aim to offer Year 6 children a residential visit to an outdoor pursuits centre usually Grinton Lodge near Richmond where they are able to experience being away from home for 4 nights and to tackle a range of activities and visits accompanied by staff from school. The centre is run by Durham Education Authority and staffed by a qualified and experienced teacher and support staff.
