I live locally, have three older children and work at Durham University as a Department Coordinator within Professional Support Services.
I enjoy being involved in my community for both a sense of belonging and to give something back: I am on the Group Executive for 1st Chilton Scout Group, and am a regular volunteer at Jubilee Parkrun, Spennymoor.
I have explored the idea of being a school governor at various points throughout my children’s schooling, but the timing never seemed to be right. With my present employer actively supporting staff into school governance, it is reassuring to have this support for the commitments that school governance brings.
I wanted to be part of the governance team in a primary school, as I truly believe the primary years, as the foundation of the education of children, are of upmost importance. I am looking forward to working in partnership with school leaders and co-operatively with other governors to ensure continued successful education outcomes for the pupils at Cleves Cross
We are very proud to be able to share with you that we have, for the 8th time, been awarded an Eco-Schools ‘Green flag with distinction’. The eco-schools team have given us lovely feedback. They were particularly impressed with our involvement with the tubs2pubs campaign, our litter picking events and how well the whole school got involved with ‘Earth Day’. To our amazing Year 6 class of 2026,
As you leave primary school behind, take a moment to look back on all the memories you have made. From your first days of learning and growing, to the friendships, laughter, challenges and achievements that have shaped you, every moment has helped make you the incredible people you are today.
You have shared countless smiles, supported each other through ups and downs, and created friendships that will stay with you long after you leave these classrooms. The playground games, the funny moments, the lessons learned and the memories made will always be a special part of your journey.
Although it is time to move on to new adventures, remember the friends who walked beside you, the teachers who believed in you, and the wonderful memories you created together. Carry your kindness, courage and confidence with you as you begin the next chapter.
