We are very proud to be able to share with you that we have, for the 8th time, been awarded an Eco-Schools ‘Green flag with distinction’. The eco-schools team have given us lovely feedback. They were particularly impressed with our involvement with the tubs2pubs campaign, our litter picking events and how well the whole school got involved with ‘Earth Day’. They said: ‘You have shown as a school you are incredibly dedicated and enthusiastic about keeping our planet safe for the next generation. You are all superstars!’🌟🌍♻️

What an afternoon! ✨ Our end-of-school disco was a huge success. There was plenty of dancing, sweet treats, and a few emotional goodbyes to our amazing Year 6 class. We are going to miss them so much, but we know they all have incredibly bright futures ahead! 🌟🎓

WELCOME TO
Rights Respecting Week – 10th – 14th February
We have had a great week highlighting Article 31 of the UN CRC –‘All children have a right to relax and play and join in a wide range of activities.’ We had a lovely start to the week playing board games, outdoor games, mindfulness activities and learning about our new areas of outdoor learning on the field. The children had the opportunity to use the areas for the first time on Wednesday and they had a great time. It was lovely to see them having fun, learning and playing together.
Safer Internet Day was on Tuesday and we have incorporated this into our week as we want the children to know how to play online safely. Our assembly this afternoon has highlighted how important it is to be safe online – it was lovely to see so many of you there and for those who couldn’t make it, I’m sure the children can tell you the important messages.

WELCOME TO
Outdoor Play
Outdoor Play!
We have always worked on trying to ensure our grounds are developed as much as possible to support children’s play and learning – and there is always more we want to do! This year we are going to have a real push on maximising the use of our outdoors so, as well as appointing a ‘Play Leader – Mrs Joanne White – to lead the developments, we are asking for your help and support too.
Our first challenge is to enable the use of our school field right through the year – not just in summer. We have been inspired by our colleagues at Rosa Street Primary who have developed their outdoor play so much, they have been awarded the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) gold award. We’re not quite at that stage yet, but with your support, Joanne’s enthusiasm and our Rights Respecting Ambassadors leading the pupil’s voice, we can really make a great start now.
How can you help?
This certainly isn’t about cost! Developing play outside is about getting back to basics. Joanne has created a list of ‘stuff’ that we want to collect. I am sure that some of you will recognise the same things that you might have played with outdoors when you were younger! We want to develop areas on our school field such as Den Building, Role Play, Small world activities, Drama, Mud Kitchen, Investigation Station etc. Look out for Joanne’s Wishlist – and the competition that our Rights Respecting Ambassadors are launching to see which class are the ‘best collectors’!

Today, our Key Stage 2 children enjoyed a brilliant trip to the beach. From building sandcastles and playing games to paddling in the sea and enjoying time with friends, there were smiles all around.

We are very proud to be able to share with you that we have, for the 8th time, been awarded an Eco-Schools ‘Green flag with distinction’. The eco-schools team have given us lovely feedback. They were particularly impressed with our involvement with the tubs2pubs campaign, our litter picking events and how well the whole school got involved with ‘Earth Day’. They said: ‘You have shown as a school you are incredibly dedicated and enthusiastic about keeping our planet safe for the next generation. You are all superstars!’🌟🌍♻️

What an afternoon! ✨ Our end-of-school disco was a huge success. There was plenty of dancing, sweet treats, and a few emotional goodbyes to our amazing Year 6 class. We are going to miss them so much, but we know they all have incredibly bright futures ahead! 🌟🎓

A special well done to the 11 children who have had 100% attendance throughout the year. Thankyou to Mel and Lyndon from Mel's Travel Ferryhill who provided them with some vouchers for their achievements!

What a wonderful celebration assembly we had today! The children were recognised for their efforts throughout the year. Certificates were given for achievements, effort, eco-work, handwriting and being a good citizen. Well done to all of the children! 🏆

As you leave primary school behind, take a moment to look back on all the memories you have made. From your first days of learning and growing, to the friendships, laughter, challenges and achievements that have shaped you, every moment has helped make you the incredible people you are today.
You have shared countless smiles, supported each other through ups and downs, and created friendships that will stay with you long after you leave these classrooms. The playground games, the funny moments, the lessons learned and the memories made will always be a special part of your journey.
Although it is time to move on to new adventures, remember the friends who walked beside you, the teachers who believed in you, and the wonderful memories you created together. Carry your kindness, courage and confidence with you as you begin the next chapter.
