Our Governing Body

In June 2025, Cleves Cross joined the Melrose Learning Trust. As a result, the governance structure of Cleves Cross Primary and Nursery School changed, with members of our previous governing body remaining to form a new Local Governing Body.

Information about Melrose Learning Trust, including details of the members and directors and the Trust’s Scheme of Delegation, is available using the following link: https://melroselearningtrust.org.uk/

The funding agreement for Cleves Cross Primary and Nursery School is available from the Trust website.

The Melrose Learning Trust Memorandum and Articles of Association can be found here: Governance Documents – Welcome – Melrose Learning Trust

The Governing Body for Cleves Cross Primary and Nursery School is a hard working and committed group of people who give their time voluntarily to oversee the management of the school and to ensure that an excellent quality of education is provided for our children. Governor term of office is four years.  The Governors meet regularly throughout the year and are made up of a range of representatives from the local community.  We are fortunate to have a strong skill set amongst our board including local professionals with experience in safeguarding, HR, and business leadership.  In addition, we have people with strong educational backgrounds including headship and teaching and others who have previously worked in school settings. Our Parent Governors are key members of the Governing Body as their knowledge and understanding of the school community is invaluable in helping us develop and grow.

The Chair of the LGB for 2025/26 is Anya Stephenson and she can be contacted at: clevescross@durhamlearning.net

Today, Year 1 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Beamish Museum!
We brought our History learning to life by visiting the old toy shop and taking part in a brilliant toy workshop!🧸🪁🪀 We even got to pick out our favourite toys and create our own toy shop window display. Afterwards, we explored the village and stepped inside the historic school, church, cinema and houses - with a highlight being a ride on the traditional tram and bus. 🚋🚌
They had a wonderful day and were absolute stars!
